BRT Eduction, 2022-2023 Teaching Artists

BRT Education seeks experienced Teaching Artists to support current and future arts educational programs. We are seeking skilled individuals who thrive in teaching music, acting, and dance. Candidates should be experienced instructing diverse populations of youth ages 7-17.

  • Encourage students to develop a greater appreciation for the performing arts.
  • Strengthen confidence, independence, decision-making skills, and leadership abilities through the platform of performing arts.

Compensation: BRT Education classes pay $40-$50/teaching hour. Rate varies by program based on planning needs, schedule, and whether the role is a co-teaching or solo assignment. Exact compensation will be disclosed when you are contacted to interview for a specific teaching role within our season.

Additional program information:

Many of our programs invite Teaching Artists to bring their skills and artistic practice into classes of their own design and lesson planning. ArtRageous Education School Year programs and Amplifying Black Brilliance, generally use lessons developed by BRT’s Education department in collaboration with Teaching Artists instructing each specific program. Please feel free to indicate if you have any preference for teaching lessons of your own design or from an established curriculum.

BRT ArtRageous Education provides year-round arts educational classes in musical theater and hip hop dance from Sept 2022- June 2023. Classes are offered during the school day to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students.

Frequency: Three 45-minute classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday

The option to teach quarterly is available.

Students: 1st-3rd grade
Dates: Now-June 2023

Amplifying Black Brilliance creates immersive experiences for youth to celebrate heritage within the African diaspora through creative expression, cultural appreciation, education, and mentorship. This program is designed for youth ages 7-17.

Classes will take place twice a week for five weeks.
