Bristol Riverside Theatre is a mid-sized regional theatre whose mission is to engage audiences and artists alike with exceptional performances, inspired writing, and superior productions that motivate us to think harder, to feel more deeply, to laugh more joyfully, and to reflect on ourselves and the world in which we live. Located in the historic district of Bristol Borough, the theatre has a full-time staff of 13 employees and sits in a beautiful park set on the banks of the Delaware River. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds and perspectives and reflects our community. We offer over 200 performances per year including 5 mainstage theatre productions, 3-8 presented theatre productions, and 4-8 concerts.

We seek Production Stage Manager for the 2023-2024 season. We are looking for an evenhanded, friendly, collaborative, organized partner and a generous mentor to early career assistants. In essence, we are looking for a trustworthy, confident, and experienced stage manager who will work closely with the Co-Producing Directors and Production Manager to manage and shape the mainstage productions that form the very center of what we do.

This is not a seasonal contract. It is four consecutive AEA LOA contracts (31 total weeks of employment) from September 5, 2023 to April 14, 2024. The PSM will have a private river-view apartment, in walking distance from the theatre, rehearsal studio, restaurants, and more (move in and out dates can be negotiated to accommodate other leases).

The four shows are The Mystery of Irma Vep (directed by Victoria Rae Sook), A Christmas Story, the play (directed by Amy Kaissar), A Raisin in the Sun (directed by Lisa Strum), and Big: The Musical (directed by Ken Kaissar).

The desired experience and qualifications for this position include:

  • Prior experience as an Equity Production Stage Manager.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Efficient and professional manager.
  • Friendly team player.
