Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Plans

BRT has long prided itself not just on being a theatre at the center of a community, but having community at the center of our theatre. However, there is more work to be done to ensure that the community at our center is inclusive. Our work has already begun and will continue with the following actions:

– working with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant, based in Bristol, to develop a three-year DEI plan which includes an in-depth assessment of the organization;

–training for staff, board, and volunteers;

– ensuring that our staff, board, and volunteers better reflect the demographics of the community in which we work;

– a commitment to producing and elevating the work of artists of color; and

– ensuring that DEI initiatives run through all BRT programs including the Mainstage season, the presented season, the concert season, and the education programs
