Meet the Cast

MAGGIE GRIFFIN-SMITH is so excited to be back at BRT! She was last seen here in Jesus Christ Superstar and Rosemary Clooney and Friends. Other credits include: The Eagle Theatre – Bonnie & Clyde (Bonnie), Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife), Our Town (Emily Webb), Godspell (Day By Day); Walnut Street Theatre – Harvey (US Myrtle Mae). Other regional favorites:My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle), Jekyll & Hyde (Emma), Phantom (Christine), Cinderella (Cinderella). Maggie has studied with Shakespeare & Co., Circle in the Square and Walnut Street Theatre, and performed in Tennessee, Atlanta, Las Vegas, New York and New Zealand. Maggie is also a Teaching Artist for Theatre Horizon and Burn Brae Arts Camp. Up next: The Shape of Things and Little Women (The Eagle Theatre, 2017/2018). LUKE GROOMS from Newport, Tennessee, is quickly earning a name for himself as a versatile singing actor in the musical theatre and opera. In musical theatre he performed in the New York premiere of Jerry Springer: The Opera, at Carnegie Hall, singing the dual roles of Dwight and God. Luke reprised these roles in the New England premiere of the work with Boston’s Speakeasy Stage Company in May of 2009, for which he was nominated for an Elliot Norton. Luke joined the National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera, in the role of Piangi, becoming the last Piangi to play the tour till its close. Luke has appeared as, Beadle Bamford in the Fulton Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, a role he recently reprised for Hawaii Opera Theatre, made his role debut as Jean Valjean in Skylight Music Theatre’s production of Les Miserables, and performed the role again with Red Mountain Theatre Company, to much acclaim. Recently Luke appeared as Chef Louis in Arkansas Rep’s sold out production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and as The Bishop of Basingstoke on the First World Tour of Jekyll and Hyde.

KEITH SPENCER is thrilled to be back amidst the BRT family and performing with this talented cast! Keith has performed in many professional companies ranging from BRT to Philadelphia’s Prince Theater to the Broadway tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Music of the Night, starring Betty Buckley and Melissa Manchester. Favorite roles: Coalhouse Walker, Jr. (Ragtime); Joe (Show Boat); The Abolitionist (For the Glory: The Civil War Musical); Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors); Leading Player (Pippin); Billy (Carousel). Keith’s concert performances and back-up vocals include appearances with artists such as Roberta Flack, Rosemary Clooney, and Sandi Patty. Keith frequently performs cabaret, jazz, classical, and Broadway concert showings for corporate events and private engagements. Love to Amy, Penelope, and wonder twins, Zachary and Vivian, for their support. God is so good!

KRISTIN TITUS is thrilled to be making her BRT debut! A true cross-over artist, Kristin has appeared on both opera and theatre stages all over the country. 2016-2017 credits include Sister Act at the Walnut Street Theatre, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd and Alice Beane in Titanic both at the Broadway Theatre of Pitman, Housekeeper/Maria in Man of La Mancha with the Princeton Festival and Nightcap Cabaret’s What is Love?…Baby, don’t hurt me (no more). Kristin has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center, NJ Performing Arts Center and with Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera Iowa, Opera MODO, Center City Opera Theater, Da Capo and New York Opera Studio in roles including Mrs. Hayes in Susannah, Mimì in La Bohème, Lady Billows in Albert Herring, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, Strege and Lady M’s cover in Verdi’s Macbeth, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, Mother/Witch in Hansel und Gretel, Berta in The Barber of Seville, Roselinda in Die Fledermaus, Arabella in Arabella, among others. A passionate arts educator, Kristin owns and operates a vibrant voice studio in South Jersey where she lives with her husband Jesse and their children Vanessa and Levi.

TASHA WATERS is thrilled to be back on the BRT stage for her second Summer Music Fest concert, after making her BRT debut in When America Sings. Prior to that, she premiered the role of Queen Ozma in the World Premiere concert of Forever in Oz, and sang at World Café Live as Mimi, in the book release concert of a new musical drama, La Giara. Tasha has also performed locally at the Ritz Theatre, as Gladys (Mama) in Memphis, and Marge MacDougall/Miss Wong in Promises, Promises. Other notable credits include: Spamalot (Lady of the Lake), Grease (Rizzo), Into the Woods (The Witch), Man of La Mancha (Aldonza), and the North American Premiere of Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts). Tasha holds a MM in Vocal Performance/Opera from the San Francisco Conservatory, and a BA in Music from Washington University in St. Louis. Up next: Carousel (Media Theatre).
