A Raw Space

March 28, 2011

The wealthy and somewhat difficult Susu Ziegler has purchased one of Richard Meier’s astounding Manhattan raw space apartments overlooking the Hudson River. At first Susu had hoped to have her architect husband design this tricky space (which is all windows with a magnificent 360 degree view.) But with her husband going through an artistic block and their marriage virtually on the rocks, she forces him to compete against Rod Menin, a younger, hotshot architect. As the two architects desperately try to figure out how to make this space work and truly feel like a home, the play becomes an examination of what makes two marriages work. Or not work.
